Why should I learn Forex currency trading?

I think you are already aware that Forex trading is a good way to make money at home. More over, I bet you knew someone, or would have heard of someone, who's already making tons of good money in FX trading.

But what you wouldn't know is that 7 out of 10 traders keep losing money in Forex market! That's right, 70% of individual FX traders keep losing their hard-earned money in the market; while the rest of the 30% work freely at home and earn millions annually)

Wonder what differs between the losing 70% and the winning 30%?

Forex trading skills and the trading system! If you want to work less than 20 hours a day at home, if you want to make millions by trading freely at home, if you want to have financial freedom by trading Forex; you better LEARN Forex trading before you start trading Forex. Forex market is definitely not a game for newbie and you need to brush up your skills before getting your hands wet.

Forex(FX) Trading Strategy

A forex trading strategy can provide profit for a skilled speculator. A FX trading strategy is, simply put, a method for using foreign exchange rates of currency from various countries to buy one country’s currency when it is undervalued, and exchange it for another country’s currency with it is of normal or higher value, with the difference being profit.

A common forex trading strategy could involve US dollars and the Euro, the official currency of most European countries. To use a simple example of a forex trading strategy, a speculator would buy Euros when they were undervalued; let’s say two Euros equaled one US dollar. This would be unusual because normally the two currencies are almost equal.

By spending one hundred US dollars to buy two hundred Euros a speculator would be able to buy more goods in Germany, France or other European countries. When the market changed and became more even, the speculator would have twice as many goods as he normally would have, and would be able to exchange those goods for US dollars once again.

The difference would be profit. This is a very simple explanation of a forex trading strategy, but gives the basics to the new speculator.Of course, when coming up with a forex trading strategy the trader should only use money that he or she can afford to loose. This is speculation, as opposed to investment. The chances for profit are real, and could come quick but if the market turns the opposite way than expected the trader could actually loose money.

A forex trading strategy can reap large profits, but if anyone tells you that all trades will result in profit, they haven’t studied the market as well as they should have and they are not correct. Still having a sound forex trading strategy for a competent businessman can be a profitable venture. It requires study of the markets, which takes time and is usually best accomplished by reading financial newsletters and using tools available on the Internet.

Getting the advice of a professional forex trading strategy specialist can also be a sound choice. Professionals have the time, education and skills and can generally help a trader come up with a forex trading strategy that will result in profit more often than one could do without their help. The most sound forex trading strategy options are generally used by large multinational corporations who are often able to make steady profits.

Watching what large corporations do who are involved in forex trading, looking for patterns they may have set, can help a trader to get the benefit of the very expensive expertise used by these large companies. Making watching of the large traders a part of a person’s education is definitely a good place to start a forex trading education. Identifying the state of the market, determining the time frame you are working in, and the currencies that have fluctuation and getting the advice of professionals through self study can be the wisest forex trading strategy option available.

Managing a Margin Forex Account

Although the example given is much simpler than what's happening in real market situation.

But it cleary illustrates that trading in can easily magnify trade's ROI in a dramatic way. Although trading on margin sounds extremely easy to gain profits, but it is important that traders understand well the risks they are undertaking.

Traders should be very aware of the margin call and should always avoid them at all cost. Note that in the event that money in your account falls below predetermined threshold (Margin Call), the positions in the account could be partially or totally liquidated, even it's in a highly volatile, fast moving market. Also, traders should always monitor own margin balance on a regular basis and utilize stop-loss orders on every open position to limit downside risk.

Rupee to Post Worst Weekly Drop This Year

The Indian rupee declined against the U.S. dollar today and is currently ready to show the biggest weekly drop since the beginning of the year as the slump of the U.S. stock markets was followed by the decline in the Asian markets.

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark index (SENSEX) is currently falling by more than 2.5 percent. Such a strong decline in the stocks prompt foreign investment funds to sell their Indian equities and to convert from the rupee the Indian dollar. The rupee is currently approaching its 11-week lowest level against the dollar.

The analysts see a little chance that the rupee will be growing again soon — even the country’s officials are saying that the recession will have a deeper influence on the Indian economy than it was expected earlier. The capital outflows are likely to continue to be the major disadvantage of the INR, which is likely to get many speculative positions traded against it.

USD/INR from 49.73 to 49.87 as of 9:13 GMT today — its highest level since early December. The weekly gain of this currency pair is 1.9 percent.

Aussie Rises to New Monthly Maximums

The Australian dollar reached the new monthly maximum the Japanese yen as the stock markets signaled growth for a third day on improved earnings of the banks.

The currency experienced a minor decline during the day as the markets reacted on the RBA minutes stating the necessity of the further interest rate cuts. But then the growth followed. The Aussie also fell against the New Zealand dollar as the gain in commodities market made the NZD look more promising than than its Australian counterpart.

The analysts talk mainly about the good news from the U.S. banking sector as the primary reason for the global stock and high-yielding optimism. Some are afraid of the further rate cuts and say that the current optimism can’t last for too long and the Australian dollar has now some considerable space to fall. When the optimism is over, the crude oil will start to pare its gains and the Aussie will have to step back against other currencies.

AUD/USD is currently trading near its open level at 0.6583 as of 13:52 GMT after almost reaching new monthly high at 0.6615. AUD/JPY rose from 64.74 to 65.03 after peaking at 65.39 — the highest level since January 8. AUD/NZD fell for sixth day in a row — from 1.2442 to .12424. NZD/USD rose from 0.5288 to 0.5300, while NZD/JPY went up from 51.96 to 52.59 today.

Yen Drops on Toxic Assets Disposal

The Japanese yen declined against the other major currencies today as the Forex traders speculated that the U.S. plan to buy out the toxic assets is going to hurt the «safe haven» currencies, spurring the risk-hungry carry trade.

During the early Asian trading session the U.S. dollar was also bearish against the euro and the pound as the investors dumped it in favor of the more riskier assets. As of now the dollar is rising against the euro as the confidence in the U.S. economy is rising after the American administration unveiled the long-awaited plan to remove the bad debt from the private financial system.

The yen, on the other hand, is very vulnerable to any news that eliminate the risk-aversion. The Japanese economy has already suffered more than U.S. from the ongoing crisis and the only advantage the yen can offer is a safety, which is quite vague and isn’t very sought by the traders when there is chance for the stable carry trade opportunity.

Analysts believe that the U.S. government’s action will increase the money flow into the emerging markets and reduce the global volatility. If the traders won’t be skeptical about these changes, this short relief may become a real long-lasting rally. That’s not a good sign for the Japanese yen and probably has some dangerous risk for the dollar.

USD/JPY went up for the third day today — from 96.94 to 98.25 as of 7:56 GMT. EUR/JPY rose from 132.05 to 133.65 after reaching as high as 134.49 — the maximum since October 21st 2008. GBP/JPY gained from 141.08 to 143.96 today.

Euro Declines in Correction Following Rally

The euro fell against the dollar and the yen today following the yesterday’s unprecedented rally as the market participant speculate that ECB will have to follow Fed’s money-printing trend.

The European currency rallied yesterday against the U.S. dollar after the Federal Reserve pledged to buy $300 billion in the U. S. Treasury securities, technically stating that it will print those money. The euro advanced by more than 3.4 percent against the greenback yesterday. Today it’s posting a technical correction supported by the expectations that the next statement by the European Central Bank won’t differ much from the Fed’s one.

The currency rose against the pound, which is considered to be a rather weak player on the currency market (it failed to rally at similarly fast pace against the dollar yesterday). The yen gained for the first time in 6 days against the euro today. Analysts believe that there is a great chance for the ECB to follow Fed’s steps and we may see a backward rally on EUR/USD soon — the next monetary policy meeting for Eurozone is scheduled for April 2.

EUR/USD fell from 1.3490 to 1.3476 as of 7:54 GMT today after rallying from 1.3035 to 1.3490 yesterday. EUR/JPY declined from 129.74 to 128.61 and EUR/GBP rose from 0.9442 to 0.9457 today.

DOLLAR

The U.S. dollar is currently heading for its worst week against the single European currency since the inception of euro on the market’s prolonged reaction to the Fed’s pledge to increase dollar liquidity.

The dollar is currently ready to renew its more than 2-month low against the euro, which was set yesterday. The spree of bullish days on EUR/USD lasts for 9 days already and the Forex market doesn’t seem to stop soon with this growth. On March 18 the Fed stated that it will spend more than $1 trillion to stimulate economy with $300 out of those money will probably be printed.

The greenback also declined for the third day against the Japanese yen, which also received some major hit from the euro on the stock markets revival. The currency market analysts regard the fact that the Federal Reserve is printing the money in order to help the economy as an extremely strong bearish factor for the dollar.

EUR/USD rose from 1.3656 to 1.3718 as of 7:50 GMT today or a total of 6.8 percent this week. USD/JPY fell from 95.54 to 94.33, while GBP/USD went up from 1.4495 to 1.4561 today.

Forex Reserves Backfire

Prevailing wisdom has long held that the accumulation of foreign exchange reserves has helped stabilize emerging market economies by cushioning them against economic shocks. The economies of Asia, in particular, were praised by economists for responding to the 1997 Southeast Asian economic crisis by building up their reserves to guard against runs on their currencies in the future. In hindsight, however, the accumulation of reserves may have actually contributed to the current economic crisis, by facilitating the formation of massive global economic imbalances. High savings rates in Asia, for example, enabled western countries to run continuous current account deficits. Now, the chickens are coming home to roost, and developing economies are once again finding themselves vulnerable to recession, since their forex reserve policies came at the expense of developing domestic economic bases. The Times of India reports:

Re-balancing means that Asian countries must stop piling up ever-rising forex reserves (and trade surpluses). Such reserves represent excessive saving, excessive exports and insufficient imports.

British Pound: It's All Relative

Since the inception of the credit crisis, perhaps no currency has been beaten down more than the British Pound, with analysts bitterly divided about whether the currency will fall further. A lot depends on whether the British efforts to save its devastated banking sector are successful. The government has already moved to nationalize the Bank of Scotland, and is quickly moving to shore up the capital positions of other vulnerable banks. Experts point to the Pound's historic volatility, however, as an indication that investors have always fled, and will continue to flee the UK in times of uncertainty. Jim Rogers, whose partner George Soros famously "broke" the Bank of England in 1992, forecasts a bleak future, although his motives are questionable. Ultimately, the fate of the Pound is entirely relative, as is the case with all currencies. In other words, if investors suddenly changed their minds about the perceived stability of the Dollar and Yen, the Pound could quickly recover. Business Week reports:

As investors begin to renew their focus on the problems of other economies, the pressure on sterling may ease. The selling could turn to buying if investors suddenly decide they'd rather take a little risk to earn return, rather than watching their cash evaporate

Stock Trading

Stocks are shares of ownership in companies. People who buy a company’s stock may receive dividends (a portion of any profits). Stockholders are entitled to any capital gains that arise through their trading activity—that is, to any gain obtained when the price at which the stock is sold is greater than the purchase price. But stockholders also face risks. One risk is that the firm may experience losses and not be able to continue the payment of dividends. Another risk involves capital losses when the stockholder sells shares at a price below the purchase price.A company can list its stock on only one major stock exchange. However, options on its stock may be traded on another exchange. Where a stock is traded depends on both the requirements of the exchange and the decision of the corporation. Each exchange establishes requirements that a company must meet to have its stock listed. For example, to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange, a company, among other things, must have a minimum of 1.1 million shares outstanding with a market value of at least $100 million. But not all companies that satisfy NYSE requirements apply to have their stock traded on this exchange. Intel and Dell Computer, two very large and well-known corporations, satisfy NYSE requirements but choose instead to have their shares traded on the over-the-counter Nasdaq. The different exchanges tend to attract different kinds of companies. Smaller exchanges, such as the Nasdaq, typically trade the stock of small, emerging businesses, such as high-tech companies. In the United States, the AMEX lists small to medium-sized businesses, including many oil and gas companies. The NYSE primarily lists large, established companies. Most security trading is accomplished through brokerage firms. Persons and organizations that wish to purchase securities will call upon the brokerage firm to execute their transaction. To actually conduct the transaction on the stock exchange, the brokerage firm must have a membership, called a seat, on the exchange. Stock exchanges limit the number of available seats, and the cost of a seat on an exchange is high. During 2002 the price of a seat on the NYSE ranged from $2 million to $2.6 million. Brokerage firms that have seats not only can complete trades on the floor of the exchange but also have the right to vote on exchange policy.Brokerage firms are willing to pay high prices for exchange seats because of the profit opportunities available from membership in an exchange. Profits can be generated from the fees charged for the execution of trades as well as from trading on the firm’s own account. There are, however, risks associated with brokerage firm activity. For example, brokerage firms can lose money if their clients default on margin loans (loans obtained to purchase securities).

Forex Analysis

While some analyze their portfolios based on profit or loss; in the world of the FOREX Exchange, FOREX Analysis is one of the most important Keystones to successful investing. FOREX Analysis helps both large corporations, central banks, and private investors make the crucial choices to guide them to successful speculation and investment. FOREX Analysis sifts the reams of data, mountains of new articles, and miles of charts and reports to determine the most successful strategy to capitalize in the rates of exchange that are the means of transaction in the FOREX Market.FOREX Analysis takes a comprehensive look at both statistical and non-statistical information and weighs these factors with an eye towards seeking profit in the currency transactions between two countries. For instance let's say we are seeking to make a profit off the movement and conversion of Russian Rubles into British Pounds.Using FOREX Analysis we can determine who, or rather which end of the deal, can provide the most profit return to the eager investor. FOREX Analysis determines the cost and benefit of these investment strategies, and as we all know, this is crucial to determining the extent of investment and the potential for profit; otherwise why commit any funds, if not to reap the return on a much larger amount?FOREX Analysis is made much easier to the average investor if he has access to a brokerage, or a statistical information gathering service. The sheer volume makes collection on the most narrow of invest opportunities almost beyond the scope of the private individual. So having access to the best FOREX Analysis available can make the difference, and for that mater should be the rule of thumb, in considering any investing decision within the FOREX Market. The future of your money is going to be determined either by you or by the erosion of time. Using FOREX Analysis you can place safeguards not only to hedge the amount of your fortune, but also to increase the size and growth potential of your money. In short FOREX Analysis is a key essential to strategic successful investing.

Why Trade At FXCM?

FXCM's trading volume, $350 billion worth of transactions monthly, may be among the largest sources of retail currency trades in the world. As a result, we have obtained close banking relationships with eight of the world's largest and most aggressive price providers. Having multiple price providers is especially important in volatile markets, when one or two banks may post wide spreads, or simply avoid quoting any price at all. With so many major banks quoting prices to FXCM, there are competitive spreads, even during market-moving news events. FXCM does not take a market position—eliminating a major conflict of interest. A dealing desk broker, which acts as a market maker, may be trading against your position. With our No Dealing Desk execution, however, we fill your orders from the best prices available to us from the banks. While an individual bank may try to skew its prices off the market, the unattractive price on the bid or ask side will lose the price competition and as a result, not factor into the prices streamed to you. At FXCM, prices are not subject to manipulation by a broker or a banks dealing desk. While our competitors are beginning to follow our example of offering No Dealing Desk execution, we have successfully implemented it. Excellent bid and ask prices are not meaningful unless you have a reliable trading platform to execute trades. Our trading platform is tested in all market conditions, routinely handling about 200,000 trades per day. While FXCM aims to provide clients with the best pricing available, having all orders filled at a requested rate means execution risks will remain.

Forex History

The historical ways of evaluating the currency value of a country by worth of Gold, finally came to an end much later after the Second World War. Even during the first World War, the value of Gold has been used to determine the value of foreign currency of a country. However, US dominated financial world had introduced Bretton Woods Agreement in 1944, where the Forex trading used to consider the dollar value of the currency of the concerned country as the key parameter. The objective had been to fix the dollar value based on the rate of gold of the concerned country. The aim of establishing a stable market to get rid of any global financial crisis by prohibiting countries to devaluate their currencies, had been hindered by the phenomenal growth of Forex trading, which demands freedom from such control to take the ultimate advantage of the continuous influx from the foreign market. In fact the reign of gold could hardly face the challenges of modern economic boom all over the world. However the story of Frankenstein came into being, the US dollar itself got devaluated and that hit the final nail in the coffin to end the Bretton Woods Agreement era in 1971, allowing the new dawn of free floating real Foreign Exchange Market of today's world.Nevertheless US dollars have always been playing a major role in Forex and reserves of US dollar serves as the prime factor in determining the country's wealth even today. The concept of globalization and the open market of outsourcing because of its proven advantages have made the core concept of foreign exchange more pertinent, where the foreign trade is hardly limited to big merchants only, rather it has now entered into the desktop computers of the professionals in their bedroom, where the concept of work from home has got its overwhelming popularity as a mode of extra income.Outsourcing jobs from US & UK to the third world countries like India, China, Malayasia have ultimately helped to increase the foreign exchange worth of the country. Besides the core market of Forex trading, a huge amount of exchanges in currency has been going on every day. Though Forex is a free market for all, but it has been tested to be season proof, in spite of market deregulation or share market fluctuations or even political instability of any country in particular. Currencies move freely across the geographical boundaries and in spite of such a free floating, none of the major industrialized countries has faced any blow during the last three decades. The Internet realm has given us the unique opportunity of online foreign currency trading, which uses mainly forex exchange software. As the very preliminary rule of foreign exchange never generates any scope for a physical bank or exchange, central in nature unlike the share market, various companies have emerged in the recent past to build up a virtual trading platform, where a lot of people can participate even without much knowledge of the subject. If beginner becomes the prime reason of worry, then anybody can take help of various forex news, which are available all over the Internet. The pictorial representation of hike and downfall of foreign currencies will always give you the comfort and smoothen your decision making process.

Automated Forex Trading

Moving on with forex trading it is essential to know about the four types of trading. Self directed trading, managed accounts, trade signals and automated forex trading are their types worth to be mentioned.Among these four types growth of automated forex trading is at rapid level as it ease the pitfall of the trade.

Self directed trading has little drawback as emotion and poor money management stands in the way to success.Greed and fear is another factors that too pay the way for demise. If one is rapacious about money he or stay for a longer time or if one scares for loss he or she get away from the trade fearing to attempt. Time management is not properly maintained.

Automated forex trading excels in time management as one can buy or sell at any time. in this type of trade one can set the program in such a way that trading is performed as per his or her instruction. On your own or under the guidance of trading mentor one can set the limiting factor for trading. As per the parameter setting trade goes on. One can define the price point, price pattern. market trends (following trends, breakout trends, counter or fading trends), price level proximity, averages and technical indicators. System will use the parameters and carry out the trade accordingly.

Trade signal are not to be trusted as guess does not work, entirely relies on signal provider similar to that of managed accounts. One of the type of automated trading system is desk top based system which is less expensive compared to other types . Coming to its drawback is security problem as data may be contaminated with virus and backup files are necessary to avoid erasing of data's.

Web based system is another type of automated trading system were software requirements are not necessary. As web itself provide a security one can shed off the fear of security problem.
One can try out different type of trading and get the convenient type of their choice. To test system micros account can be used. Trading micros may help one in caring out the trade in preference to their personal needs, reduces the cost of learning and adding to its benefit its test is minor. Small forex trader can use this method without relying on leverage.

Most of the automated system trader set them on meta trader4 platform were language used is MQL4.which is really a challenging concept. Brokers usually sells automated system platform which is already programmed. So trader can avail it, set program and execute the trade smoothly with proper time management.

Forex Trading with brokers

If one feels difficult to commence forex trading on their own can avail foreign exchange brokers who helps the customer providing reliable and authentic information. Brokers generally carry out the traders orders, do not anticipate any commission from the traders and work only for bank. Their main role is to bring buyer and seller together and show the best price to the traders.

Every bank has a speaker boxes which is connected to the phone lines by which every employee could hear , while brokers use a open box system facilitate with microphone by which the traders tell all authentic information about the prevailing status of the market to the banks. By this information bank execute the order. Their communication is made easier in this manner.

Concerned with traders, brokers help them in displaying the prices of different bank which guide them in knowing the accurate information. But it will be very hard for the trader in knowing the offers, bid, and name of all banks. Traders can avail the fundamental analysis and technical analysis which will guide them in forecasting the upcoming price. But traders cant be certain of the exact price. Another advantage of brokers is that they provide the traders a wide selection of bank. Some Asian and European banks works around the clock with the counter parts in American banks.

AUD

The champion of Tuesday’s trading session with Forex online traders was the Australian Dollar, which benefitted from the Reserve Bank of Australia announced they will leave interest rates untouched for this month. The unexpected move, came with a warning though, that credit default swaps were straining the Aussie economy – which raises the ultimate cost for protection against Australian debt default.

The AUD was trading up 2.5% to the USD at .6454, 3 ¼% to the Yen to 63.31, 2.4% to the Canadian Dollar to .8341 and 1% to the New Zealand Dollar at 1.2914.

EUR

Christian Noyer, the European Union Central Bank Governor, made some key comments today about the EU’s economic policy and as a result, online Forex brokers and investors traded the Euro sideways most of the day on Tuesday. Governor Noyer had said that the Central Bank was mulling over “unconventional” monetary policies in order to stem a dire economic situation in much of the Eastern and some Western European countries. This declaration tempered the Euro, which had earlier posted decent gains, because traders did not seem to like the vague reference to unconventional methods. If the politicians could learn anything in this crisis, it is that the markets do not like uncertainty – and the words “maybe” and “perhaps” are as uncertain as they come.

At 5PM GMT, the Forex brokers were trading the Euro up slightly to the GBP at .8967, slightly versus the CAD to 1.6277, slightly to the Swiss Franc at 1.481.

USD

The US Bank Citigroup, recently at the center of a government bailout that saw the US government take a 40% stake in the company, announced on Tuesday that it had actually posted a profit in the first two months of 2009. This news lifted the stock more than 35% and caused a US Dollar sell off in the Forex. The dollar is still considered a safe-haven and analysts took Tuesdays fall of the dollar as a sign of profit taking after the dollar has been on a charge the past three weeks. It is expected that the dollars fall will be short lived and as economic reporting around the globe continues to show a slowing, the Dollar will regain its appeal.

At 6:15GMT, the US Dollar was off 1/4 to the Euro at 1.2638, down .1% to the Yen to 98.81, down .3% to the Pound to 1.382, and down over 1% to the Canadian Dollar to 1.2881 and over 1 1/2% to the Australian Dollar to .6405. The dollar also fell to the New Zealand Dollar over 1 1/4% to .4988 and rose against the Swiss Franc to 1.164 in daily FX charts.

EURO

The European central Bank Executive member, Lorenzo Bibi Smaghi, made comments on Tuesday that confirmed that the ECB was ready to lower interest rates to 0 should deflationary signs continue to be visible. Despite this, the Euro had a good session, continuing to make gains against some of the majors it has suffered against in recent weeks. Forex broker analysts attribute the bounce in the Euro to an increase in risk appetite, however these gains are not expected to last as banking worries and continued decline in the global economic environment are expected to push investors back into safe-havens like the US Dollar.

At 6pm GMT, the Euro was up 1/4% to the Japanese Yen at 124.81, up more than 1/2 to the British Pound to .9203 and up 3/4 to the Swiss Franc to 1.4699. The Euro fell nearly 1% to the Canadian Dollar to 1.6271 and more than 1 1/4% to the Australian Dollar to 1.9682.

Foreign Exchange

This short introduction explains the basics of trading Forex online, a brief explanation of the markets and the major benefits of trading Forex online. There are also two scenarios describing the implications of trading in a bear as well as a bull market to better acquaint you with some of the risks and opportunities of the largest and most liquid

market in the world.

As an additional aid for those who are new to Forex, there is also a glossary at the bottom of this text which explains some of the terms used in connection with currency trading.

EASY FOREX

Should I use a Easy Forex ?
The Forex market is not, most people would agree, the place to cut your teeth as a trader. Novices can very quickly get their fingers badly burnt. But inexperience is not the only easy reason to consider using a Forex broker to trade in the high risk international currencies market.Equally as important is having the right temperament for a high pressure market where swings are commonly pendulum-like and fast moving. Not only are Forex traders required to readjust mentally to juggling twin-faceted currency transactions, they also need to keep a calm easy head. Fear and greed are, without a doubt, the enemies of the successful Forex trader. Before entering the Forex market for the first time, whether or not you have experience in trading stocks and shares, you should carefully consider whether the Forex is for you. Not all investors are suited to Forex trading, and finding out too late can result in heavy losses. If you have doubts about your investment objectives, experience and risk exposure, then you should seek the advice of a Easy Forex broker or risk having your initial investment rapidly wiped out. So what should you look for when selecting a Forex broker ? Experience and reputation are two good starting places for the selection process. Do as much research as possible about the broker and ask in online forums for anyone with first hand knowledge of the company.Because of the global nature of the Easy Forex there is a diverse range of financial regulatory environments depending on where the broker is based. One of the most unregulated countries is the US, so in the absence of independent verification of a company’s continuing financial stability doing your homework thoroughly is imperative. It should be emphasized, of course, that there are very many top quality Forex brokers around who provide excellent customer service and value for money. The message here is that selecting the right broker for you takes time and effort. In the end, it may well save you a lot of dollars and heartache.Be skeptical. Examine any claims made about high returns and low margins, especially if the company is vague about the risk involved and are unwilling or unable to disclose financial information on the strength of their company. Low margins may sound competitive, but in reality this is because the broker is speculating against you and relying on the low margin to stop out your gains.Small minimum investments should also sound alarm bells. To make serious investment strategies work small sub-$10,000 sums are unlikely to cut it in the Forex. Moreover, the brokers offering small minimum investments are also likely to be those offering low margins as well. And all for the same reason.

What is Forex (Foreign Exchange)?

Foreign Exchange (FOREX) is the arena where a nation's currency is exchanged for that of another. The foreign exchange market is the largest financial market in the world, with the equivalent of over $1.9 trillion changing hands daily; more than three times the aggregate amount of the US Equity and Treasury markets combined. Unlike other financial markets, the Forex market has no physical location and no central exchange (off-exchange). It operates through a global network of banks, corporations and individuals trading one currency for another. The lack of a physical exchange enables the Forex market to operate on a 24-hour basis, spanning from one zone to another in all the major financial centers.

Traditionally, retail investors' only means of gaining access to the foreign exchange market was through banks that transacted large amounts of currencies for commercial and investment purposes. Trading volume has increased rapidly over time, especially after exchange rates were allowed to float freely in 1971. Today, importers and exporters, international portfolio managers, multinational corporations, speculators, day traders, long-term holders and hedge funds all use the FOREX market to pay for goods and services, transact in financial assets or to reduce the risk of currency movements by hedging their exposure in other markets.

MG Financial, now operating in over 100 countries, serves all manner of clients, comprising speculators and strategic traders. Whether it’s day-traders looking for short-term gains, or fund managers wanting to hedge their non-US assets, MG's DealStation™ allows them to participate in FOREX trading by providing a combination of live quotes, Real-Time charts, and news and analysis that attracts traders with an orientation towards fundamental and/or technical analysis.

The Pros and Cons, of Trading a Forex Trading Demonstration Account

Trading is a skill that takes time to learn. Think of it like Boxing it's also a skill that takes time to learn. If you get into a professional boxing ring without any training, you'll get beat up physically! If you get into the Forex ring without any training, you'll get beat up financially!
The similarities are that both the examples are Skills, and both require psychological preparation. The difference is that one is physical and the other is financial.
We can get over a physical beating usually in a few days or weeks, BUT a financial beating can be devastating and easily affect us for the rest of our lives, not only does it hurt our hip pocket but it can cause problems with our relationships and family. So when we get into the Forex ring we have to be prepared.
The Professional Boxer
When a professional boxer gets in the ring he has already been practicing in a safe environment usually for years, this safe environment is where he can make mistakes without having medical treatment. He can also spar with other opponents that have more skills and experience then he does and he learns from them. He also has someone there to watch him and give advice and guidance. Then when he is ready, he gets into the ring and boxes for real, he's accepted the risk and KNOWS that he can get hurt, but he's also studied his opponent and done his home work, so he KNOWS he has a good chance. He can still lose this round but if he wins most of them he will take the money home. BUT! What about the psychological side? Does he fear getting into the ring? Sometimes! But he's aware of it and he can control how it affects him in a way that is beneficial. Will he be thinking about the money he'll make? Or will he be thinking about the fight as is happens and planning his next moves during the breaks? He'll be analyzing the results from the previous rounds and making changes in his strategy for the next round.
The professional Trader
Can you see what's coming next? If so than, you've learnt to analyze what you read and form a projection into the future. (A very valuable skill for the FOREX Trader) A forex trader, like the professional boxer, will not get into the Forex trading ring without being prepared first. He might not spend years practicing in the Demonstration Account, but he will at least have spent a month or two or three, sparing with the Forex Market in a safe environment that he won't get beat up in. He'll practice trading forex against all the other traders and learn from them, and he'll also have someone watching him and giving advice, and guidance. Then when he is ready, he'll get into the Forex trading ring and trade forex for real, he's accepted the risk and KNOWS that he can get hurt, but he's also studied the Forex market and done his home work, so he KNOWS he has a good chance. He can still lose on this trade but if he wins most of the trades he will take the money home. BUT! What about the psychological side? Does he fear getting into the forex trading ring? Sometimes! But he's aware of this fear, but he can control how it affects him, in a way that is beneficial to his forex trading. Will he be thinking about the money he'll make? Or will he be thinking about the things that are influencing the market as is happens and planning his next trades while he waits for the results? He'll be analyzing the results from the previous trades and making changes in his strategy or continuing with the one that's working, and planning for the next Forex Trade.
So it's easy to see that trading with a Forex Trading Demonstration account is something everyone should do before getting into a live Forex Trading account.
The practice account will give the trader MOST of the skills necessary, to be able to trade profitably, giving them the training ring to spar in.
BUT A BIG WARNING!!!
Like the Boxer the Forex trader has learnt to manage his emotions, this is often overlooked by new Forex Traders. BUT is probably what separates the successful investor from the ones that keep getting beat up! If you are considering getting into the Forex trading Ring, then be sure to practice first, and find all the information you can about controlling your emotions. Fear, greed, impatience, are the main culprits of financial bashings, so keep an eye out for them, and learn how to beat them before you get in the ring with them. Understanding these emotions will enable you to use them to your advantage in understanding the market, the market is influence by these emotions and if you understand them you can have them on your side, thus giving you an advantage.

Forex Software Packages

If you plan to start trading FOREX online you will of course be using a software system. This system will make it easy for you to get information quickly about market prices and make trades. There are two types of FOREX software available, client based and web based.
As the FOREX market is a fast moving market and you will need up to the minute information to make informed transactions, it is up to you to see you have a high speed internet connection. Dial up internet access will absolutely not work for this. Another consideration could be the location of the servers used by your broker. If your broker's servers are located quite a distance from you, say in another country, this could potentially slow down your transmissions. If you plan to trade online you will need a modern computer and high speed internet connection.
The next consideration would be which type of software, client based or web based? Web based software is housed on your brokers website. You will not have to install any software on your own computer. A web based software program will allow you to log in from any computer that has an internet connection. A client based software program, or one that you download into your own computer will limit you to transactions only on the computer it is downloaded on. Web based software programs are preferred by most brokers who think they are more safe and reliable. Web based software tends to be less vulnerable to attack from viruses and hackers during transmissions than client based software.
Any FOREX software should offer you real-time quotes and offer means to quickly enter and exit the market. These are minimal requirements of any trading software. Upgraded software packages are usually offered at an extra monthly fee by brokers.
Generally brokers will have client information housed on two severs kept in two different locations. This is to guarantee client data is kept as safe as possible. If there is a power failure or a problem with one server the data is sent back and forth from the second secure server and you will not notice an interruption. Regular back ups of these servers is another way that brokers keep financial data safe in case of server failure.

How to Trade Forex

Trading foreign exchange is exciting and potentially very profitable, but there are also significant risk factors. It is crucially important that you fully understand the implications of margin trading and the particular pitfalls and opportunities that foreign exchange trading offers. On these pages, we offer you a brief introduction to the Forex markets as well as their participants and some strategies that you can apply. However, if you are ever in doubt about any aspect of a trade, you can always discuss the matter in-depth with one of our dealers. They are available 24 hours a day on the Saxo Bank online trading system, SaxoTrader.

The benchmark of its service is efficient execution, concise analysis and expertise – all achieved whilst maintaining an attractive and competitive cost structure. Today, Saxo Bank offers one of Europe's premier all-round services for trading in derivative products and foreign exchange. We count amongst our employees numerous dealers and analysts, each of whom has many years experience and a wide and varied knowledge of the markets – gained both in our home countries and in international financial centres. When trading foreign exchange, futures and other derivative products, we offer 24-hour service, extensive daily analysis, individual access to our Research & Analysis department for specific queries, and immediate execution of trades through our international network of banks and brokers. All at a price considerably lower than that which most companies and private investors normally have access to.

The combination of our strong emphasis on customer service, our strategy and trading recommendations, our strategic and individual hedging programmes, along with the availability to our clients of the latest news and information builds a strong case for trading an individual account through Saxo Bank.

Terms of trading are agreed individually depending on the volume of your transactions, but are generally much lower in cost when compared to banks and brokers. Your margin deposit can be cash or government securities, bank guarantees etc. Large corporate or institutional clients may be offered trading facilities on the strength of their balance sheet. The minimum deposit accepted for an individual trading account depends on the account type. Trade confirmations and real-time account overview are built into SaxoTrader, while further account information can be produced in accordance with your specific requirements

Carry Trading Becomes Useless

If you only have hundreds of dollars in your Forex account, then there is no point trying to take advantage of carry trades. If the market didn't fluctuate so much it might be worthwhile, but in all likelihood you'll make a few bucks here and there and end up wasting your time. So what if you make 200% over a year, you still only have several hundred dollars in
your account.Concluding ThoughtsWhen you are trading relatively large positions relative to your account size, it can be exciting. You'll quickly win or lose tens of percentage points. If you are good you'll be able to build up a bit of a nest egg before too long and then start trading more appropriately for the size of the account you've built up. Quite simply, as your account gets larger the need to large risks dissipates.Get out there, take your time, make sure the market sets itself up for you just right, and then stomp around and rip a few dollars out!

Waiting For A Buying Opportunity

If you don't know how to recognize a buying opportunity, then you need to be playing with funny money still. Perhaps there has been a big movement recently. Perhaps there is a news release on the way. Perhaps you have noticed a trend and your indicators are giving you signals. Whatever the case, don't just throw your money at the market and hope for a profitable move.

Are you kidding me? Forex trading isn't easy, it's about as risky a financial endeavor as you can legally participate in.Wait, let me rephrase that... foreign exchange trading is easy, success isn't. Yeah, that's right, that's my tag line. It's true.If you are looking for the easy button, here are some platitudes for you:
Buy low and sell high.
Have inside access to national economic reports.
Witness a major international incident prior to the news reports. If you are willing to work hard, be patient, and work to preserve your capital, then here are some more helpful suggestions:
Wait for a buying opportunity before entering a market.
Manage your risk via position size and stop loss orders.
Learn to recognize when you should not be trading.
